  1983 - 2004
Revd Charles Crosland
Now Senior Minister at Claremont Baptist Church, Shrewsbury.

During the eighties the church began to grow and needed to adapt the buildings to the needs of the modern world.

Changes included modernising the downstairs hall, putting in disabled toilets and a stair lift.

The transformation of the front of the church and repairing of the stained glass windows was undertaken in 1994.

  2000 -
Revd Tim Shelley
In 2000 Revd Tim Shelley came as assistant Minister and in 2004 was appointed as Minister/Team Leader.

During 2001 further extensive changes were made, these included the opening of the Crofts.

These are now used as offices, a meeting room and the centre of the Open Door Counselling Service.

Later the same year the newly refurbished church worship area was reopened. Improvements included new heating, lighting, carpets and chairs.

The effect was to make the building much more flexible and attractive for both church and community to use.

Ultimately however, the church is not primarily about buildings, but about proclaiming the good news of Jesus in relevant ways to people of our generation. And in that sense the story goes on.
